Our Organisation focuses on the empowerment of women and girls because they are disproportionately affected by poverty and discrimination; and suffer abuse and violations in the realisation of their rights, entitlements and access and control over resources. Also, experience shows that, when equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities overcome poverty, marginalisation and social injustice. We strategically emphasise on promoting quality healthcare, inclusive education, gender equitable and sustainable livelihood opportunities and disaster relief and preparedness.

The horrifying practice of female foeticide – identifying the sex of the foetus and termining it in case it’s female – still exists in India. While we have come a long way and this ill-practice is losing ground, there are still numerous families which consider the girl child as a “burden” and have no qualms in preventing their birth.
